Project Nehemiah Hawaii Internship Program

June - September 2027

Train. Discern. Respond

Overview

PNH Internship is a 12-week, Christ centered training program designed to equip individuals in: 

  • Human Trafficking awareness
  • Trauma-informed engagement
  • Ethical outreach practices
  • Advocacy and leadership development

This program combines classroom instruction, field observation, and spiritual formation to prepare interns to respond to exploitation with wisdom and integrity.  

What You Will Experience

  • Weekly training and teaching sessions
  • Supervised outreach with vulnerable communities 
  • Real-world exposure to homelessness and trafficking indicators
  • Cultural immersion in Hawaii
  • Mentorship and discipleship
  • Reflection and leadership development

What You will learn

  • Psychology of trauma and exploitation
  • Cultural silence and vulnerability in Hawaii
  • How to identify trafficking indicators
  • Ethical boundaries in outreach
  • Biblical foundation of justice (Nehemiah model)
  • How to advocate responsibly 
  • Mentorship and discipleship
  • Reflection and leadership development

Who Should Apply

We are looking for individuals who are"

  • 18-30 years old
  • Active in their faith (Christian Foundation)
  • Emotionally mature and teachable
  • Interested in psychology, social justice, ministry, or outreach
  • Willing to submit to structure, leadership, and training

Program Cost

Estimated: $2,500-$4,000


Includes housing, transportation, training, and program administration. (Scholarship and sponsorship may be available) 

Important Note

Interns are not rescuers. This program trains individuals to observe, understand, and respond ethically.
